"My summer internship with Milani was such a valuable experience that gave me a better understanding of what a civil engineering degree can lead to. Working on the road-widening project at Fort Meade allowed me to gain firsthand experience with construction management and the overall construction process. One of the biggest things I learned from this internship is that civil engineering is so much more than just physics, calculations, and technical problem-solving. It showed me how important management, communication, organization, coordination, and leadership are to successfully completing a project. This experience further deepened my interest in civil engineering and gave me a broader perspective on the field. I am extremely grateful to everyone at Milani Construction, especially Farhad and Ira, for making this such a pivotal and meaningful learning experience and for giving me the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally."

"As an accounting intern at Milani Construction this summer, I processed weekly payroll, worked on two budget variance projects, and contributed to work that genuinely affects the company's future. I wasn't just given busy work on deliverables that don't have much impact. The deliverables assigned truly mattered, which really shows the trust amongst the team. It really makes you want to buy into the success of Milani. I learned so much, both about accounting on a managerial level and about the construction industry itself. What struck me most was the care Milani puts into every project and every person, from crew members to project engineers down to interns. The amount of thought put into each step is impressive for any company, let alone a company that works on many projects at any given time. Professionally, this experience helped me grow my accounting skills, sharpen my Excel abilities (which was so fun), and learn how to use AI thoughtfully in the workplace. As a person, Milani Construction has made me more thorough, since the payroll process for construction is so specific, and it has helped develop my confidence because of their trust in me as mentioned earlier. Most importantly, I have gained a second family. This was my first internship, and I really couldn't have asked for a better one!"

"Over the course of my summer internship as a project engineer with Milani Construction, I have gained hands-on experience and learned about project management in a welcoming environment. The company culture embraces curiosity and looks for feedback to improve. My experience calculating the day's performance factor, working with the estimating department, and interacting with subcontractors taught me about business and management. I learned to discuss project plans with subcontractors and gained confidence. I also conducted quality control by analyzing engineering plans, comparing drawings to on-site construction, and completing government reports. As a mechanical engineering student, I also had the opportunity to learn stick and MIG welding and work on repairing equipment. Starting as a complete beginner, the company invested in teaching me, resulting in me successfully welding company equipment. I am very grateful for my internship experience with Milani Construction because they encouraged me to develop a variety of skills and explore my interests."

"I started my internship at Milani Construction, LLC in May of 2015 and became a full time employee in January of 2016. My experience at Milani Construction has been wonderful and I firmly believe that Milani Construction is a great place to work. At the time of my internship, I was working to finish my Master's Degree in Accounting at The University of Maryland and everything I was learning at Milani related directly to what I was learning in all of my accounting courses at school. I learned how to process invoices, prepare checks for vendor payments, perform bank reconciliations, and how to assist in the preparation and compilation of quarterly financial reports. I felt so privileged to be working alongside extremely friendly and encouraging individuals who constantly went out of their way to help me succeed in my position.
